Bah Sumar Sing Sawian

Veteran journalist and well-known Khasi writer. Recipient of U Tirot Sing Award for Arts and Literature. Author of several books including Khanasmari-u khun u hajar ka ri Hynñiewtrep, Golden vine of Ri Hynñiewtrep : the Khasi heritage, Ki khun ki hajar na jingkieng ksiar etc. Also translated Gitanjali – the famous work of Rabindranath Tagore -into Khasi.

Dr Esther Syiem

A professor of English at the North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong and has been working on research in the oral dimension of Khasi folk traditions. Some of her publications include Oral Scriptings, Of Wit and Wisdom, Of Follies and Frailties, Ka Nam, Memoir in Water: Speaks the Wah Umkhrah. A member of the National Editorial Collective of the PLSI.

Dr Ananya S Guha

Accomplished poet. Has been writing poetry for more than thirty years. Anthologized in several anthologies including the Harper Collins Book of English Poetry. Retired as the head of IGNOU, Shillong. Holds a doctoral degree on the novels of William Golding.

Dr T K Kharbamon

Presently the Director of English and Foreign Languages University, Shillong. President of ELTAI, Meghalaya Chapter. Has decades of experience in teaching in India and Cambodia.

Dr Anita Panda

Senior Researcher, ICSSAR, Delhi and Guest lecturer at Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, Writer & Broadcaster AIR NES, Shillong. Received National Award in 2015, Akashvani Annual Award in 2005.Worked in the External Services Division in AIR new Delhi.

Kong Silbi Passah

Eminent folklorist, traditional music composer and teacher. Recipient of U Tirot Sing Award for Art and Literature. Member of All India Poetess Association, Poetry Society of India, K Thiar Lyngwiar Dpei, Kala Utsav, Khasi Jaintia Welfare Association etc.

Kong Bijoya Sawian

An acclaimed translator and writer. The Teachings of Elders, Khasi Myths, Legends and Folktales and About One God are three of several books that she has translated from Khasi into English. Several institutes of repute, including the Sahitya Akademi and the Institute of Folklore Studies, Bhopal, have published her short stories and critical essays.

Bah P S Lyngdoh

Long association with the Ramakrishna Mission, Sohra. Translator of the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna and various works of Swami Vivekananda in Khasi.

Shri Bikram Bir Thapa

Eminent artist and writer. Sahitya Akademi awardee in 1999 in Nepali Literature. Architect of the oil-painting of Swami Vivekananda in the Quinton Hall at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre.

Dr Moushumi Dey

Presently an Administrator of Women’s College Higher Secondary Shillong. Has been a Radio Jockey in All India Radio and a News Reader and Moderator of Doordarshan Shillong for over 25 years. Has contributed several research articles in both national and international journals and newspapers. Also the Co-Convener of Indian National Trust of Art and Cultural Heritage INTACH, Meghalaya Chapter. Her area of interest includes Gender, Media and Social Change and its co-relation in society.

Dr Biloris Lyndem

Professor and Head of the Centre of Distance Education, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong and Coordinator of IGNOU Study Centre, Shillong. Also, the director of the College Development Council, NEHU. Won the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Award for Women Empowerment in recognition of her grassroots level efforts towards empowering women through literacy. Author of Tryst with Literacy: A Meghalaya Experience and of several research papers on distance education, mass education and higher education in general.

A bilingual poet and translator who writes in English and Manipuri. Professor at the North-Eastern Hill University. His three books of poetry are: Words and the Silence, Time’s Crossroads, and The Desire of Roots. His poems have appeared in magazines and journals like The New Statesman, Verse, The Literary Review, Planet: The Welsh Internationalist, Kunapipi, Kavya Bharati, and Chandrabhaga.
