Reign free, I shall

Hundreds before me set themselves ablaze
For the ideals they highly preached.
Thousands waned away in lost dreams
For their thoughts found no means.
And many more still only cry
For they could not even start to try.
They preach- ‘follow a path lit by others’
As if that was told by their mothers!
They recall stories of many lost soul,
As if they are trying to console.
They all seem to hide in terror,
As if fear is all they have near.
But I seek that which is hidden
Shrouded in darkness- it beacons.
It was told to be forbidden
‘Sweet heavens be forsaken!’
I care not of these binds old,
I will thread my path with my blood bold.
They can cry all they want
It will not detour me,
I will set myself much colder
han even the Northern sea.
They can slash as they want
It will not faulter me,
I will set myself ablaze brighter
than even what the Sun can be.
Maybe I will turn to ash
But I will need no saviour
Because that ash will have my Lord’s favour.
Maybe I will freeze too deeply
But there will be no bellow echoed
Because that will become my Lord’s abode I shaln’t allow any fear to consume me
I will reign free!
Their lost spine will never scare me
I will forge my own key,
I will pave my own path
With my Lord beside me.

Power of Now

An Indian interdisciplinary artist Jaganmayi Himamshu has a BE in Computer Science from Nitte, Bangalore, and an MFA in Computer Graphic Animation from SCAD, USA. She has professionally worked as a programmer in various Animation studios across America but on returning to India, she decided to take up her original passion of Fine Arts professionally. She was fortunate to grow up in a family deeply immersed in the spiritual teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Ramana and Sri Aurobindo. But after taking her own journey through capitalism and atheism she is now in a devoted pursuit of spiritualism, using art as a sadhana.

“देखो दादी, मैंने कितने डोड़ा बीन डाले?” संजू ने विहँस कर कहा। उसकी दादी भी प्रसन्न हो गयी। खेतों में गन्ना कट जाने के बाद जहाँ-तहाँ सूखे गन्ने के टुकड़े अर्थात डोड़े सानू की दादी बीन ले जाती थी और उन्हें चूल्हे में जलाकर खाना बनाती थी। “अब घर चलो दादी, भूख लगी है” संजू ने कहा तो उसकी दादी ने प्यार से उसके माथे का पसीना पोछ दिया। डोड़े का एक-एक गट्ठर सिर पर रख कर दोनों घर की ओर चल दिये। घर जाकर दादी ने झप्पर पर फैली बेल से एक लौकी तोड़ी। लौकी की शब्जी बनायी और रोटियाँ सेंकने लगी। संजू ने लौकी की शब्जी देख कर कहा-

“रोज-रोज वही लौकी-तुरई। कभी दाल बनाओ न दादी।” संजू की बात सुन कर दादी भावुक हो गयी। फिर सँभल कर बोली- “कल बाजार से गेहूँ बेच कर अरहर की दाल ले आना, फिर दाल बना दूँगी।”

                “अच्छा दादी” संजू ने संतुष्ट होकर कहा।

संध्या-काल वह अपने सखा करीम के घर पहुँच गया। उस समय कटोरे में बड़े-बड़े खिले हुए बासमती चावलों के साथ पीली-पीली अरहर की दाल सान कर करीम खा रहा था। संजू ललचाई हुई दृष्टि से देखने लगा।  करीम की माँ से यह छिपा न रहा, वह संजू से बोली- “खाओगे बेटा? परस दूँ? … लेकिन तुम्हारी दादी से डरती हूँ। उनको पता चला कि तुमने मुसलमान के घर खाया है तो बहुत नाराज होंगी।”

“दादी को नहीं बताऊँगा, अम्मी।” संजू ने सहज भाव से कह दिया। दाल-चावल का कटोरा पलक झपकते आ गया और वह करीम के साथ खाने लगा। बीच में रुक कर दरवाजे की ओर देखने लगा।

                करीम की माँ ने पूछ लिया- “क्या हुआ बेटा?”

                “दरवाजा बंद कर दो अम्मी। कहीं दादी न आ जायें।”

ओमप्रकाश मिश्र  सम्प्रति प्रज्ञालोक सृजन संस्थान मोहमदी, खीरी, उत्तर प्रदेश के संस्थापक संरक्षक हैं । जे. पी. इंटर कॉलेज मोहमदी खीरी उत्तर प्रदेश में 1971 से 2003 तक प्रवक्ता और 2003 से 2008 तक प्रधानाचार्य रहे। काव्य-कृति ‘जय विज्ञानं’ के लिए इंडिया बुक ऑफ अवार्ड्स द्वारा ‘अचीवमेंट अवार्ड’ से पुरस्कृत ।

अकुलाहट

“अरे ऋषभ! मेरी बीपी वाली दवा तो ले आओ, एक-आध दिन में ख़त्म हो जाएगी।”

कहते हुए दिनेश अपने नौकर ऋषभ के कमरे तक पहुॅंचा ही था कि फ़ोन पर ऋषभ को बात करता  सुनकर ठिठक गया । वह किसी से जोर से कह रहा था-

उसने मोबाइल को गौर से देखा तथा कान के और पास ले जाकर पूछा-

“उई छुटकऊ के साथ एम्बुलेंस मा हैं? उनका गाॅंव से निकले छह घंटा हुई गए? ऊई हड़ताल के चक्कर मा रस्ते मा फॅंसे हुइहैं?

कहते-कहते ऋषभ की आवाज काॅंपने लगी! सिसकते हुए वो आगे बोला-

“छुटकऊ का फोनऊ बन्द बतावत है? हाय मोर बप्पा! उनका राम बचावै” कहते हुए ऋषभ चीख कर रो पड़ा!

“का कहत हौ भैया? बाऊजी के आक्सीजन लगै की नौबत रही?”

और इधर दिनेश न्यूज़ रीडर की दूर से आती हुई आवाज सुनकर स्तब्ध रह गया कि-

 “ड्राइवरों की अचानक हुई हड़ताल के कारण पूरे देश में लगे भयंकर जाम के हटने के कोई आसार नहीं दिख रहे हैं!”
